A hyper-optimized, lightweight WordPress site that leveraged an exact-match domain to dominate local SEO, achieving top 3 rankings for 10+ high-intent keywords.


1. Context

A local window and pressure washing business was struggling to compete in a crowded market. Their existing website was slow, outdated, and had poor visibility on search engines. They needed a new website that would not only look professional but also attract local customers and generate leads.

The Challenge: To build a new website that would rank high in local search results for relevant keywords and convert visitors into customers.


2. Goals

  • Achieve top 3 rankings: Secure top 3 positions on Google for at least 10 high-intent keywords in their local service area.
  • Increase organic traffic: Drive more qualified local traffic to the website.
  • Generate more leads: Increase the number of quote requests and phone calls from the website.
  • Improve user experience: Create a fast, mobile-friendly, and easy-to-navigate website.

3. Approach

My strategy was to combine the power of an exact-match domain with a technically sound and content-rich WordPress website.

  1. Domain Strategy: I acquired the exact-match domain WindowPressureWashing.com to signal relevance to search engines.
  2. WordPress Development: I built a custom, lightweight WordPress theme from scratch, focusing on performance and Core Web Vitals. I avoided bloated page builders and plugins to ensure the site was as fast as possible.
  3. On-Page SEO: I conducted extensive keyword research and optimized every page with relevant keywords, meta descriptions, and schema markup for local businesses.
  4. Content Strategy: I created detailed service pages for each of their services, as well as a blog with helpful articles for homeowners. This helped to establish their expertise and attract long-tail keywords.
